It seems to have been winter for a long time now but slowly and surely signs of spring are emerging. We had days of continuous rain so I used them to my full advantage as sewing days. I made another Tilly & The Buttons Nora top in a very very light weight bright pink jersey, just right for spring cycling, when I no longer need to wear my neon pink jacket but still want to be seen. I love this pattern, it’s so versatile as it looks so different in varying fabric weights. I took in the arms for this one so they are less boxy than the heavier weight one. I’ve made another one in a light weight navy and white stripes jersey that I must photo. I prefer this one as the jersey is a little heavier than the pink one so it sits better but I’m still pleased with both.
I’ve also used this time to get to grips with my overlocker which immodest in love with and learn how to make some ‘in the hoop’ embroidery items. My first attempts are a bag for my heart monitor and a mug rug. A bit wobbly bug I’m getting there.
We’ve had low tides for the past week or so at times that we can make the most of, as it still gets dark at 5ish. Otherwise we’ve made the most of the lovely countryside around here. The windmill in the photo is owned by Paul McCartney and he turned it into a recording studio. Just look at the views! I’d love to be able to sit on that balcony and I’m sure there has been some amazing parties held on it.
We did our second Parkrun this month, I was slower than on my first, found it more difficult but ran longer. I’m still one of the slowest as well but determined to get there. My aim is to be able to do it in 30 mins. I’ll definitely treat myself to a champagne breakfast when I achieve that!
