This time last year we were several inches deep in snow, it was dark and bleak, it wasn’t a snowfall accompanied by crisp sunny days but dank, gloomy grey days. Over the past few days we’ve been in light tops, had our first beachside breakfast, fun enjoying the low tides, and a long cycle ride, The cycle ride was lovely, sailing down country lanes to a fabulous pub, The Lamb at Wartling. It’s a proper country pub, dog friendly and gorgeous food. It’s run by James Braxton of Antiques Roadshow fame, who is often behind the bar and is very hospitable. The dogs have loved it, having the sun on their backs, and spending time playing in the garden whilst we do some early tidying up. The only downside is that is it predicted to last which I hope won’t mean damage to all the plants that are budding and the early butterflies.
