We made another trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and enjoyed it as much as the first time. We went with friends and stayed over at a lovely hotel the night before. A few drinks, a nice meal and a good catch up was the ideal start. The tour was as fascinating as ever. The attention to detail, the beauty of the costumes and props, and the sheer magic of it all made for a great day. I really think that even if you weren’t a Harry Potter fan you’d enjoy it.
Spring is here now, with the garden beginning to blossom. It’s our first spring here, so it’s lovely to find out what shrubs are flowing. We’ve made the most of the warmer (well slightly warmer!) days by doing some more 5k parkruns and entering our first 5k race. I’m slow but I keep reminding myself that I can run 5k now. When I started the couch to 5k programme in late Nov, it couldn’t even run for a minute, I could only do 50 seconds! My aim now is to speed up. I want to start making running clothes as those in the shops are such boring colours in the main, and the few colourful items are so expensive. I made Rob a top as my first attempt and he is pleased with it so more will be made.
Mothering Sunday has been and done. We took Mum for a fabulous meal at the Powder Mills Hotel. I also made her a cushion, along with her other gifts that I think she liked. The pattern is by Amber Chromatic, who makes some fantastic patterns. You can find her on Etsy – her shop is The Chromatic Studio.
The clocks have gone forward so I’m looking forward to the longer evenings and summer
